This features intricate mechanics of past times, complete with the original hand crank magneto and classic brass bells. This also has the original transmitter and receiver. Unlike today's traditional phones, these were used in conjunction with a manual telephone exchange, such as human switchboard workers/ operators. These phones were often referred to as "Local Battery" phones because the carbon microphone responsible for converting voices into electrical signals utilized a local power source inside, which was usually No. 6 cells.
