This listing is for the 2013 Casascius Precious Metal Bitcoin by Mike Caldwell. Casascius Bitcoins are physical bitcoins that you can hold, and each does or did hold real digital bitcoins. Mike Caldwell created the private keys by having a small piece of paper inside a washer with a tamper-evident hologram on each side. However, he found it was more economical to have real coins minted with a hologram on one side instead of two different designs. His first round of coins made were custom brass coins ordered from a mint that specialized in car wash tokens. As of November 2013, the sales of bitcoins containing real digital currency were suspended.
