This listing is for the Vintage Heber Mercantile Company, Heber, Utah, 50¢ Trade Token, Scalloped Brass. This is a fantastic piece of early 20th-century Western history. This 50-cent denomination features a classic 8-lobed scalloped edge with a delicate beaded inner border, characteristic of merchant scrip used when local trade relied on credit and community exchange. The obverse clearly displays the company name and city, while the reverse is inscribed with "Good for 50 cents In Trade."  As a general mercantile, it supplied local residents with essential goods, from food to farming equipment. During this era, cash was often scarce, so the company issued trade tokens to facilitate local commerce and credit. Great Find!
