1909 VDB Wheat Penny - Choose by Grade - First Year Issue - Semi-Key Date - Rarer Wheat Penny - 1909 Vdb Lincoln Wheat Penny

This listing is for one 1909 VDB Wheat Penny. Good to AU (About Uncirculated) Condition; choose by grade.

The Lincoln cent has been struck by the United States Mint since 1909 (first year of production). The obverse or heads side was designed by Victor David Brenner, as was the original reverse, depicting two stalks of wheat. Brenner's initials (VDB), on the reverse at its base, were deemed too prominent once the coins were issued, and were removed within days of the release (which is why this is a rarer coin). The initials were restored, this time smaller, on Lincoln's shoulder, in 1918.

A crucial part of any coin collection. It makes an excellent gift for a collector or as an addition to your own collection.
