This listing is for a Vintage Elongated Indian Head Penny Cent 1900. To elongate coins, they are created by passing a coin through a rolling mill, which stretches the metal and alters the shape. Indian Head pennies were flattened primarily to be used as "nickels" for payphone currency. The flattened coins could then be inserted and read as a nickel. Great find!
